Migrate from Nue to Kugamon: the playbook

Nue is a quote-to-revenue platform for SaaS companies, founded in 2019 in San Francisco, running on its own data store with a Salesforce integration. Kugamon handles subscription, one-time and usage revenue as native Salesforce records. The move is typically 3–6 weeks; Nue does not publish pricing, Kugamon publishes $65–$125 per user per month.

Should you leave Nue?

  • You are pure SaaS and self-service channels matter as much as repsNue is built for you — stay
  • You sell a mix of one-time, services and subscription revenueKugamon fits — all three models, native records
  • You want one admin surface, in SetupKugamon fits — no second console

Where you are

Nue is built for SaaS-only subscription revenue with significant gaps for hybrid models. And Nue isn’t truly Salesforce-native — its logic runs outside Salesforce, key data is stored outside your org, and reporting requires Nue’s own tools instead of native Salesforce reports. Kugamon handles every revenue model natively in Salesforce, with native reports from day one.

Nue was designed for SaaS-first, subscription-only revenue — which leaves significant gaps the moment your quote needs to mix subscription, one-time, and usage charges. And while Nue uses some Salesforce standard objects, its core logic runs outside Salesforce and key transactional data is stored outside your org. The downstream effect: a sync layer that drifts, and reporting on LRR, GRR, and LTV that has to run through Nue’s own reporting tools, not native Salesforce reports.

Kugamon handles every B2B revenue model natively in Salesforce — subscription, one-time, usage, and bundled pricing in the same quote. Enterprise-grade approval chains, full LRR/GRR/ARR reporting, and all data lives in your Salesforce org with zero external sync. The #1 rated CPQ on AppExchange, with US-based support and a track record of enterprise-scale deployments.

Nue was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in San Francisco; co-founders Mark Walker (CEO) and Tina Kung (CTO). It is listed on the AppExchange and does not publish pricing. nue.io appexchange.salesforce.com

The migration, step by step

  1. Export & Inventory

Pull all product catalog, pricing, and subscription data from Nue via their export tools or API. Document active subscription terms.

  2. Salesforce Object Alignment

Since Nue operates outside Salesforce, this step maps external Nue records back to native Salesforce Objects that Kugamon uses directly.

  3. Kugamon Configuration

Use Kugamon's Setup Wizard to configure product bundles, pricing rules, and approval flows. No developer needed.

  4. UAT & Validation

Run User Acceptance Testing with key sales reps. Validate quotes, subscription creation, and renewal workflows against Nue baselines.

  5. Cutover & Deprecation

Activate Kugamon for new transactions. Retain Nue access in read-only for 30–60 days to reference historical records during transition.

Nue is built for SaaS-first subscription revenue and isn’t truly Salesforce-native — although it uses some Salesforce standard objects, its CPQ/billing/subscription logic runs outside Salesforce, key transactional data is stored outside your org, and reporting requires Nue’s own reporting tools rather than native Salesforce reports. Kugamon is built for full-spectrum B2B revenue (subscription, one-time, usage, bundles) and lives 100% inside Salesforce. Every quote, order, invoice, and subscription record is a native Salesforce object — no external database, no sync, no drift, and native Salesforce reports work on every record from day one.

No. Kugamon handles pure-subscription pricing as cleanly as Nue does, but with one important difference: when your business eventually adds one-time pricing, usage-based pricing, or bundled offerings, you’re not migrating again. Most companies start with subscription-only pricing and grow into hybrid revenue within a few years. Kugamon doesn’t require a re-platform when that happens.

Most Nue migrations complete in 3–6 weeks — on the lower end of our migration ranges because Nue’s data model is relatively constrained and we’re effectively bringing the data home into Salesforce. The biggest step is reconciling Nue’s external records with the Accounts and Products in your Salesforce org. After that, configuration is fast.

Kugamon has been on AppExchange longer than most CPQ alternatives, has a stable customer base of enterprise B2B sellers, and is the #1 rated CPQ in its category. We don’t make claims about competitor stability, but our customers tell us they sleep better knowing their CPQ is on a Salesforce-native platform with US-based support and a long track record of enterprise deployments — not a venture-stage startup.

Most Kugamon migrations complete in 4–8 weeks — against the 12–18 months a Revenue Cloud Advanced rebuild takes in practice. We've been building Salesforce-native CPQ since 2009, across 150+ companies. We know where the traps are, and we've built a proven process to avoid them. You keep your Salesforce data, your product catalog, and your pricing rules. We handle the rest.

For Salesforce CPQ customers, your data stays in Salesforce — because Kugamon is in Salesforce. There's no database migration, no export-import, no data mapping to an external system. Your product catalog, price books, quotes, and order history remain exactly where they are. For teams migrating from outside Salesforce — including DealHub, Nue, Conga, or a custom-built CPQ — Kugamon supports data imports to bring your product catalog, pricing, and historical quote data into Salesforce. Either way, we've done it before and we'll guide you through it.
