Salesforce CPQ migration tools: what each one does, and what none of them do
There is no Salesforce-built tool for migrating CPQ to Revenue Cloud Advanced. Salesforce names three partner accelerators — Forsys RevRamp, IdeaHelix, and Prodly . All three automate parts of catalog, pricing, and quote conversion; none removes the design work of moving to a new data model. A migration to a Salesforce-native alternative needs different tools: mostly a data loader.
The short answer
- Moving to Revenue Cloud AdvancedSalesforce names three tools; none migrates Apex, QCP, integrations, templates or open quotes.
- Moving to a native alternativeData Loader and the target package’s import; the admin already has them.
- ChoosingCount what falls in the by-hand bucket before you count tool features.
The three Salesforce names
| Tool | Vendor | What it does | Vendor claim | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RevRamp | Forsys | AI-assisted schema extraction, dependency mapping, SKU-to-catalog mapping, configuration transformation from CPQ (and Apttus/Conga, Zuora, custom) to Agentforce Revenue Management. | 6–8 weeks for catalog, pricing rules, and quote data (Forsys blog). | Not published. |
| ARM Migration Tool | IdeaHelix | Estimator for scope and risk; migration tool that translates bundles and pricing rules into ARM-native models; bulk loads. Listed on AppExchange. | Up to 50% less risk, up to 60% shorter timelines (IdeaHelix). | Not published. |
| Prodly Migrate | Prodly | Analyzes the CPQ setup, surfaces risks, maps products, pricing, rules, and bundles into RCA; ongoing DevOps for RCA afterward. Free assessment offered. | Advanced discount schedules and price rules still need manual handling or redesign (Prodly). | Not published; free assessment. |
Salesforce’s own Help page lists what the tools cannot migrate: Apex and Quote Calculator Plugin logic, integrations, document templates, page layouts, permission sets and custom fields (source). Read that as: a tool moves the catalog and some of the rules; the 12–18 month rebuild is everything else.
What no tool does
- Decide your catalog. RCA is attribute-based; CPQ is SKU-based. Which SKUs become attributes is a product-management decision.
- Explain your rules. Tools translate rule syntax; they cannot tell you which rules the business still wants.
- Rewrite scripts. Quote Calculator Plugin and custom Apex logic is rebuilt as pricing procedures by people.
- Re-point integrations. ERP, billing, and e-signature connectors reference SBQQ objects and are re-done by hand.
- Shorten the program. the 12–18 month rebuild in practice.
Tools for a migration to a native alternative
If the destination keeps standard Products and Price Books, the migration is mostly data loading, and the tools are the ones your admin already has: Data Loader or Data Import Wizard for open quotes, contracted prices, and subscriptions; a spreadsheet for the rule inventory; and the target package’s own import for bundles. Kugamon’s implementation is admin-led with a fixed fee ($15K–$30K by edition; $5K less on a two- or three-year term) and typically takes 4–8 weeks from SBQQ (playbook). The object-level mapping is in Salesforce CPQ data migration.
How to choose
If you have decided on Revenue Cloud Advanced, pick the tool your implementation partner already uses; the partner matters more than the tool. If you have not decided, run the free Prodly assessment or IdeaHelix’s estimator to size the RCA effort, then compare that scope and cost against a native alternative in the calculator. Both numbers should be on the table before you sign anything.
No. Salesforce’s end-of-sale page says it has evaluated and works with partner-built tools and names Forsys RevRamp, IdeaHelix, and Prodly (source).
IdeaHelix offers an estimator that sizes effort and surfaces risk, and a migration tool that converts CPQ bundles, pricing rules, quotes, contracts, and assets into ARM-native models with bulk loading (IdeaHelix). It is listed on the AppExchange. Pricing is not published.
Prodly analyzes your CPQ configuration, flags risks, and maps products, pricing, rules, and bundles into Revenue Cloud Advanced, then supports ongoing DevOps (Prodly). Prodly notes that advanced discount schedules and price rules still need manual handling. A free assessment is offered.
Usually not. Standard Products and Price Books move as-is; open quotes, contracted prices, and subscriptions load with Data Loader. Kugamon migrations are admin-led and typically take 4–8 weeks from Salesforce CPQ (playbook).
