For founders & CEOs

Know the whole cost before you sign. Then scale the revenue process without scaling the team.

Founders and CEOs are the most common first buyers of Kugamon, and they tend to ask three things: what will this really cost, will it hold up as we grow, and who picks up the phone when it breaks. This page answers all three with numbers that are published and a process that is fixed.

$65
per user per month, starting price, published
$15K–$30K
fixed implementation fee by edition; $5K less on a 2–3-year term
¼–⅓
of annual licensing is the typical implementation fee
4–8 weeks
typical implementation, usually without an SI

Kugamon publishes its prices, fixes its implementation fee, and typically goes live in 4–8 weeks with your own admin doing the configuration. That means the number on the business case is the number on the invoice — and the person deciding does not have to bet the company on a year-long rebuild to find out.

The whole cost is on the pricing page

Most CPQ and billing decisions go wrong on the second number, not the first. The per-user price is easy to compare. The implementation quote, the consulting retainer that follows it and the second phase nobody budgeted are where a mid-market company loses a year of margin.

Kugamon's numbers are all published, and there are only two of them.

Line What you pay Where it is published
Licensing $65 (CPQ), $95 (Quote to Cash or Subscription Management) or $125 (Subscription Billing) per user per month; 12-month term, annual billing, 10-user minimum Pricing
Implementation Fixed fee by edition: $15K (CPQ) to $30K (Subscription Billing), $5K less on a 2–3-year term — typically ¼–⅓ of annual licensing Implementation cost
Systems integrator Usually none; implementations are instructor-led with your admin configuring How engagements run
Support KugamonCare standard support included Pricing
Upgrades 1+ major release a month, included Support

Compare that with the alternatives on the same three-year basis. Revenue Cloud Advanced lists at $200 per user per month on its Advanced tier and $150 on Growth, before an implementation that runs 12–18 months in practice. Conga, DealHub, Nue and Zuora do not publish list prices, so any figure you are quoted is a negotiation, not a benchmark. The total cost of ownership page lays the lines side by side and the ROI calculator does it for your user count and term.

“Without having to build in house, or pay the expensive cost of Revenue Cloud.”

Brendan McDonald

Scale the revenue process, not the team

The reason a founder buys revenue software is to stop adding people to the quote-to-cash path every time revenue grows. Kugamon is built for that arithmetic. A quote is assembled from the standard Salesforce catalog with kits, bundles and guided configuration, priced by rules your admin set once, approved in Flow, and accepted by the customer through a live link that records who signed. Releasing the order creates the assets, shipments, invoices, contracts, subscriptions and next renewal opportunity without a hand-off to another system or another hire.

The same design is why the product holds up as the catalog and the order volume grow. A 100K-product catalog loads in 3 seconds in the Lightning configurator. Customer-published outcomes give the scale reference: Vita Group runs 250 active users and 7,200 orders a month on it; Lumilum quotes 350+ SKUs across 10,000+ quotes and cites 90% time savings; Johnson & Johnson Health & Wellness reports a 93% decrease in shipping errors.

Do not bet the company on a rebuild

If you are on Salesforce CPQ, you have been told it is end of sale. That is true; it is also not end of life. No end-of-life date has been announced, you can renew and add users, and there is no forced migration. The decision in front of you is therefore a choice between two futures, not an emergency.

One is a full rebuild on Revenue Cloud Advanced: a new data model, a new catalog, 12–18 months in practice, and a licensing line of $200 per user per month against $65. The other is a move to a package that keeps your Products and Price Books where they are and typically goes live in 4–8 weeks. Both are defensible. Only one of them can be reversed cheaply if you are wrong, and for a founder that asymmetry usually decides it. The business case is written for the CFO who has to sign off; the Revenue Cloud Advanced comparison concedes where RCA is the better fit.

Founder to founder

Kugamon is founder-led and customer-funded. Kuldip Hillyer is cited by name across dozens of AppExchange reviews, and the support team is US-based, so a 7-person company gets the same response speed as a Fortune 500 division. Every implementation has an engagement manager, product training and a data migration expert, and the CEO is the escalation path.

“Treated like a Fortune 50 company, although we are a small business.”

Jeff MacDonald

Read every review, verbatim; the ones that mention response times are the ones founders tend to care about.

When Kugamon is not the right choice

Say so early and save everyone a demo. If your company is standardizing on HubSpot or Dynamics rather than Salesforce, DealHub supports multiple CRMs and Kugamon does not. If you need deep, standalone contract lifecycle management with redlining, Conga's CLM is more mature than Kugamon's contract management. If your revenue is usage-metered at very high volume and finance needs a full ASC 606 subledger, Zuora is built for that and Kugamon's Revenue Management add-on is for reporting, not a subledger. And Kugamon requires Sales Cloud or Service Cloud Enterprise edition or higher with a 10-user minimum; below that, it is the wrong size.

If none of those apply, start the 30-day trial — it comes with admin rights and no sales call — and run one real quote through it before you talk to anyone.

Licensing at the published per-user price for your edition — $65, $95 or $125 per user per month on a 12-month term with annual billing and a 10-user minimum — plus a fixed implementation fee set by the edition — $15K for CPQ, $20K for Quote to Cash, $25K for Subscription Management, $30K for Subscription Billing — with $5K off on a 2- or 3-year term. KugamonCare standard support and monthly releases are included. There is no separate SI engagement for most deployments.

Because per-user price hides the two largest lines: implementation and ongoing consulting. Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced lists at $150 to $200 per user per month, and a full rebuild on it runs 12 to 18 months in practice. Conga, DealHub, Nue and Zuora do not publish list prices at all. The TCO page and the ROI calculator put every line side by side and label each estimate.

Yes. Kugamon is configured point-and-click in Kugamon Settings and Salesforce Flow, on the standard Product and Price Book. The implementation is instructor-led, one topic per session, with your admin doing the configuration — and that admin does not need to be a developer. Many customers run it with a founder or ops lead who is also the org's admin.

Your data stays in your Salesforce org, in standard and custom objects you own, with no external database to lose access to. Kugamon has been in production since 2009, is founder-led and customer-funded, and ships one or more major releases a month, which is a visible signal on the public change log.

No. Salesforce CPQ is end of sale as of March 2025, not end of life; no end-of-life date has been announced, you can renew and add users, and there is no forced migration. That is exactly why a founder can take the time to compare a 4-to-8-week move to Kugamon against a 12-to-18-month rebuild on Revenue Cloud Advanced instead of being rushed into either.
